All travellers arriving into the Sharjah Airport (SHJ) will receive a free SIM card, in a move to increase digital connectivity and enhance the travel experience.

The 10GB of free data will allow instant connection to the Internet for the first 24 hours, allowing quick access to essential digital services such as maps, taxi bookings, digital payments, messaging, and more.

"The free SIM card…provides greater convenience and makes the travel experience smoother, enabling travellers to manage their mobility and communication needs quickly – even before collecting their luggage, enhancing their digital experience and giving them a comfortable start to exploring the UAE and its unique landmarks,” said Masood M. Sharif Mahmood, CEO e& UAE.

The Sharjah Airport Authority (SAA) added that the agreement “underscores the Sharjah Airport's dedication to creating a welcoming environment that leaves a positive impression of its services, supporting Sharjah's position as a preferred destination for tourism and business,” said chairman, H.E. Ali Salim Al Midfa.

SHJ welcomed more than 9.1 million passengers during the first half of 2025, with connections to over 90 cities across 45 countries.

It serves as the home hub for Air Arabia, which started a new route to Almaty, Kazakhstan, this month. Other primary carriers include Qatar Airways, Pakistan International Airlines, Air India Express, Pegasus Airlines, and flydubai.
