Singapore-based low-cost carrier Scoot has added new links to Belitung and Pontianak in Indonesia, with flights commencing in May and June 2026 respectively.
From 3 May, Scoot will operate twice-weekly flights to Belitung, which sits on the eastern coast of Sumatra, a destination known for its unique geological formations and rich biodiversity.
From 29 June, three times weekly flights will run from Singapore to Pontianak, the capital of West Kalimantan.
The riverside city – which also enjoys a reputation as a food haven – is home to the Equator Monument, where visitors can stand between two hemispheres.
Both destinations will be served by Embraer E190-E2 aircraft, which offers a total of 112 seats.
With the launch of services to Belitung and Pontianak, Scoot’s network will increase to 85 destinations across 18 countries and territories.
Still in Indonesia, TransNusa Airlines has announced a new direct scheduled flight connecting Jakarta and Lombok. The airline will operate two services daily, with the inaugural flight scheduled for 17 April.
More seats for the holidays
Additionally, Scoot has announced increased flight frequencies to popular destinations to “support demand for travel as we head into the school holiday season”, said Leslie Thng, CEO of Scoot.
Starting April, Phuket will receive an increased number of flights from 17 to 21 times weekly, while Sibu will increase from three to four times weekly.
That same month, both Okinawa, Japan and Changsha, China will see an increase in services from three to four times weekly.
Starting June, flights to Bali and Jakarta will increase from 28 to 35 times weekly; Labuan Bajo from two to three times weekly; Lombok from four to 10 times weekly; and Manado upping frequency to daily flights.
In Europe also in June, frequencies to Vienna will increase from three to four times weekly.
