Korean Air is set to introduce premium economy seating as part of its new service enhancements. The airline will retrofit 11 Boeing 777-300ER aircraft by replacing first cass cabins with premium economy.
This new cabin class will offer a more comfortable travel experience for passengers at a lower price point than business class. The first aircraft with the new configuration will enter service in the second half of 2025, with further fleet modifications continuing through 2026 to expand premium economy availability across additional routes. The new configuration will include three classes: Prestige (Business), Premium Economy, and Economy.
Alongside the premium economy rollout, Korean Air is also upgrading its lounges at Incheon International Airport. The airline will expand and renovate its existing lounges at Terminal 2, with new “Prestige Class Garden Lounges” being built in both the east and west wings.
The lounges will provide a larger, more comfortable space for passengers, with the first phase of renovations set to open in August 2025. The first class and prestige class lounges will undergo further renovations, with an expected reopening in April 2026.
Additionally, lounges at major international airports, including Los Angeles (LAX) and New York JFK, will also receive redesigns with city-themed atmospheres.
