From Broadway-style musicals and celebrity chefs to K-pop stars and fitness challenges, Dream Cruises and Star Cruises are turning holidays into experience-packed getaways.

A cruise, a concert, a celebrity chef: A sea of adventure awaits!

In today's experience economy, novelty has become a powerful currency.

Travellers are increasingly drawn to limited-edition events, exclusive collaborations and one-of-a-kind moments that give them something to look forward to – and something worth talking about afterwards. It could be a celebrity chef they admire, a musical they've always wanted to catch, a trending K-pop act or a beloved character the whole family knows by heart.

For most people, experiences like these require real planning: securing tickets, booking flights and arranging accommodation around fixed dates and locations. The logistics can be half the battle.

But one Asia cruise line is changing that equation, bringing those experiences directly to guests.

As Dream Cruises marks its 10th anniversary in 2026, the cruise line – together with sister brand Star Cruises under the StarDream Cruises portfolio – has lined up a roster of dining experiences, live entertainment, fitness programmes and family-friendly activities woven into sailings across its fleet.

Broadway, K-pop and concerts at sea

Running through 10 February 2027, Forever Broadway is an exclusive musical production created for Genting Dream in collaboration with Broadway Asia International.

A highlight of the anniversary programme is Forever Broadway, a full-scale musical production created exclusively for Genting Dream in collaboration with Broadway Asia International, running on board through 10 February 2027. Conceived in New York and reimagined for Asian audiences, the show brings beloved hits – among them New York, New York, Dancing Queen and Greased Lightning – to life through live performance, cinematic staging and a specially scored orchestral soundtrack.

K-pop fans have their own reasons to book. Girl group KIIRAS headlines a special concert experience on Genting Dream in October 2026, bringing a live performance atmosphere to open water – and drawing a new generation of fans to cruising through something they already love.

K-pop girl group KIIRAS will headline a special concert sailing aboard Genting Dream, while Hong Kong's beloved cartoon character McDull takes centre stage on selected Star Voyager sailings from 15 July to 30 August.

Families sailing out of Hong Kong will find their own highlight. Popular cartoon character McDull has taken over selected sailings on Star Voyager from 15 July to 30 August – with a summer musical (McDull · Fishball on the Run), meet-and-greet sessions with McDull and Mrs. Mak, themed photo spots and classic film screenings.

And beyond the themed programming, guests still have the run of the ship – top-deck pools, a wide range of restaurants, serving Asian and International cuisines, as well as authentic Halal and Jain Vegetarian cuisines and staterooms ranging from interior cabins to sea-facing balconies to Palace suites.

Celebrity chefs, Netflix kitchens and live demos

Chef Tommie Lee, better known as French Papa from Netflix's Culinary Class Wars, shares culinary tips during a live cooking demonstration aboard Genting Dream.

Food has always been a key part of the cruise experience, but StarDream Cruises has been raising the bar with celebrity chef partnerships tailored to its regional audience.

In May, guests aboard Genting Dream met Tommie Lee – better known as French Papa from Netflix's Culinary Class Wars – at a live cooking demonstration, followed by a specially curated five-course French menu. That menu remains available at Genting Dream's specialty restaurant, Bistro, through 3 July 2026.

On a three-night sailing from Port Klang to Phuket and Penang in late May, Malaysia's culinary icon Datuk Chef Wan transformed the journey into a celebration of food – with live cooking demonstrations, interactive guest sessions and specially curated dishes served at The Lido, which includes a dedicated certified Halal section.

Sport, fitness and World Cup fever

Beyond the anniversary programme, StarDream’s themed experiences extend well into sport and wellness too.

Movement, strength and endurance take the spotlight as fitness advocate Kim Jaehong, better known as Amotti from Netflix's Physical: 100, headlines an exclusive Dreamrox – the cruise’s take on Hyrox – workshop during the 26 to 28 July sailing, bringing the kind of high-intensity training that goes well beyond the average gym session.

From live FIFA World Cup screenings to football-themed games and activities, the StarDream fleet is bringing the excitement of the tournament to sea.

The entire StarDream fleet – Genting Dream, Star Navigator and Star Voyager – is also getting in on the FIFA World Cup energy this summer. Guests can catch live match screenings, join themed sail-away parties, football quizzes and mini tournaments on deck. Genting Dream goes a step further with an exclusive Adidas collaboration running June through August, featuring interactive fan zones and limited FIFA retail merchandise on board.

Whether it’s football match screenings, a yoga or Pilates class or pickleball clinics, guests on board will always find something to keep them moving from sunrise to late night.

One trip, many experiences

As travellers become increasingly selective about how they spend their leisure time, the ability to combine a holiday with their interests, whether food, music, wellness, sport or family entertainment, becomes a compelling proposition.

With the myriad of possibilities already built into a cruise, not to mention the multiple destinations sailed to, guests will have plenty of choices to take their holidays up a notch – or as relaxing and laidback as they would like.

Together, Dream Cruises and Star Cruises offer regional getaways in Asia from two to five nights, calling at popular ports such as Melaka, Penang, Phuket, Bali as well as further afield to Okinawa, Hong Kong, Keelung and Penghu.
