The hotel was originally Reading's old City Hall, built in 1911 in a grand Georgian style. Many traditional features such as fireplaces, brass rails and marble flooring have been integrated with the very chic interior. The hotel is centrally located just a few minutes' walk from the station and shopping district and overlooks the attractive Forbury gardens. Ascot Racecourse also helps to fill the rooms here.
