Location and History

In downtown Providence, The Beatrice is one of the newest hotels to open in the city. Its developer knows a thing or two about the city since he is a former mayor. He has succeeded in repurposing part of the 1887 Exchange Building into a modern and contemporary design hotel. The hotel is named for his mother, a longtime Rhode Island resident and philanthropist.
