Location and History

This 1863 building is a noble tan brick Victorian that served as a hotel for 75 years before being bombed during World War II. It was London's first purpose-built hotel. Rebuilt after the war, it served as the BBC's Broadcast House and then was returned to its former grandeur in the 1990s.
