Taiwan is rolling out a fresh round of tourism incentives from September, with new perks aimed at repeat international visitors, corporate incentive groups and delegates attending conferences and exhibitions.

One of the key initiatives is a weekly lottery for independent foreign travellers who have previously visited Taiwan. From October, selected winners will receive NT$5,000 (US$156) in travel credits, while one accompanying traveller can receive an additional NT$3,000.

The programme applies to foreign passport holders without Taiwan residency who have visited the destination at least once since 1 January 2023. Their next trip must last between three and 90 days.

Registration opens 10am on 1 October. Travellers should sign up between seven and 90 days before arrival. The scheme covers arrivals from 10 October 2026 to 31 March 2027. Credits can be loaded onto selected local stored-value cards at 7-11 stores, for use at participating merchants nationwide.

More support for play

Taiwan is also increasing support for mega concert organisers, alongside overseas companies and organisations bringing incentive groups into the destination.

The Tourism Administration has shared that support will come to internationally renowned concerts and flagship entertainment events, as efforts to strengthen Taiwan’s allure for large-scale events.

Meanwhile groups staying at licensed accommodation in Taichung and destinations further south of Hualien, Taitung or Taiwan's outlying islands between 10 October and 31 March can receive an additional NT$1,000 per person per night, capped at NT$4,000 per person.

This is on top of existing incentive travel support, which provides eligible groups with between NT$20,000 and NT$150,000 per group for qualifying shorter programmes, or NT$400 to NT$800 per traveller for longer stays, depending on group size.

Applications must be submitted at least 15 days before the group's arrival.
