South Korea is launching two innovative visas in 2024 aimed at attracting remote workers and enthusiasts of Korean culture.

Digital nomad visa: For workations

The digital nomad visa targets individuals interested in the "workcation" lifestyle, permitting them to live and work remotely in South Korea for up to two years.

While specific requirements are pending release, these details are expected to be disclosed by the latter half of 2024.

K-culture training visa: For K-pop fans

Designed for Korean culture aficionados, the K-culture training visa invites enthusiasts eager to explore the thriving entertainment industry.

Complementing this initiative, South Korea plans to host “K Culture Events” in 2024, highlighting Korean music, local cuisine, and beauty. Additionally, the country intends to organise the “K Tourism Road Show” across various countries.

More initiatives to enhance travel experiences

South Korea is not solely focused on visas; it is implementing various reforms to simplify travel within the country. Initiatives include introducing foreign mobile payment options for international shoppers and developing a traveller mobility app, allowing easy bookings for taxis, buses, and trains.

The government also aims to create English versions of current navigation systems, all geared toward enhancing accessibility and enjoyment for tourists.
