Travellers heading to Thailand between 1 July and 31 October 2025 can look forward to significant savings, thanks to a new government-backed tourism initiative.

The “Half-Price Thailand Travel” scheme offers subsidies on accommodation, meals, and tourism activities to both domestic and international visitors, in a bid to stimulate the sector and make travel more affordable.

Registration for the programme will officially open on 1 July 2025 at 08:00 AM (Thai time) via the TieowThai Khon La Khrueng website and the Amazing Thailand mobile application. Each successful registrant will receive five travel entitlements – three for use in major cities and two for secondary destinations – with benefits available from 4 July until the end of October.

Travellers can expect government-subsidised discounts on hotel stays, with 50% off weekday accommodation (Monday to Friday), capped at 3,000 baht (US$93), and 40% off on weekends and public holidays, also capped at 3,000 baht (US$93). In addition, each entitlement includes a 500 baht (US$15.50) coupon, which can be redeemed at participating restaurants, shops, and tourist attractions.

In total, 500,000 entitlements will be made available under the scheme. Given the high demand and limited number of slots, travellers are advised to register early.

The initiative forms part of a broader 1.76 billion baht (US$54.56 million) tourism stimulus package approved by Thailand’s Cabinet. Authorities expect the scheme to generate over 35.033 billion baht (US$1.09 billion) in revenue for the economy, boost tourist numbers by 2.67 million, and support more than 40,000 jobs in tourism and hospitality-related sectors.

TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool said, “Each registered individual will receive five entitlements, including three for major cities and two for secondary cities.”
