Even as Kim Jong-Un’s train is en route to Hanoi, Vietnam to meet with US President Donald Trump for the second Trump-Kim Summit, Vietnamese destination management company Khiri Travel already has a few ideas on how the two leaders can spend some quality time in the country.
In a humorous press release that went on over the weekend, Khiri Travel suggests eight activities that the two can partake in. “After the diplomatic ink dries, the two rocket men should let their hair down — then rearrange it — at any of the friendly outdoor barber shops in the Hanoi Old Quarter around Ngo Gach and Hang Bac streets. A comb over or a buzz cut with flat top will cost around 30,000 dong (US$1.30) per person.” The press release then suggests that, to make the fast food-loving President Trump feel at home, Kim should prepare a traditional abahn mi Vietnamese burger, which is essentially an open baguette that’s stuffed with pork sausage, coriander, pate, jalapenos and pickled vegetables. However, if a Vietnamese burger is not to the US President’s taste, Khiri Travel suggests three American burger joints in town: Hanoi Social Club, El Gaucho or The Republic.
The rest of the recommendations include a Water Puppet Theatre show, an early morning walk, yoga or tai chi next to Hoan Kiem Lake park or Trang Tien Plaza, watch a game of the Hanoi Buffaloes, a game of golf at the Vantri Golf Club, King’s Island Resort and Long Bien, a shopping trip to the Old Quarter to pick up an ao dai costume, a separate shopping trip to Nha Chung street to purchase propaganda posters, and finally, a detour to Lao Cai and visit Sapa.
