As part of Visit Malaysia Year 2026, Johor is stepping up its tourism push with a new shuttle bus service for major city hot spots.

These eight stops cover shopping and sights:

  • Galleria Kotaraya mall

  • Sultan Ibrahim Building, which houses the checkpoint

  • Sultan Abu Bakar heritage complex

  • JBCC building

  • Johor Tourist Information Center

  • The zero-km landmark marking the start of peninsular Malaysia

  • Johor Zoo

  • Kota Jail, a former prison turned tourist spot

The service will begin initially with three buses, each capable of ferrying 20 passengers, with more vehicles to be added in phases.

To be launched in early 2026, these buses will ply the routes from 8am to 8pm daily. From these stops, other tourist spots in the vicinity will be easily reached by foot, said Johor state official Fazli Salleh on 7 January.
