NEW YORK – What will the travel industry look like in a post-coronavirus world? That’s the singular question on the minds of destinations, travel brands, governments, technology providers and many of the consumers they ultimately serve.
Companies are in the delicate position as they work through countless operational issues (including survival, for many) and plan for the future.
Meanwhile, travellers are in the even tougher spot as they face being locked down in their homes and fearful for the health and safety of friends, families and colleagues.
"At some point, people are going to start traveling again."
It is a timely reminder that even during these fairly dark times across the industry and the world, travel will bounce back in some form or another.
Phocuswire’s first instalment of a video series with destination specialist Destination X’s Doug Lansky unpacks his strategies for recovery.
The series will also cover his ideas on emerging from the crisis with thoughtful strategies, new roles for technology, bigger thinking than before and useful tips for brands and destinations across the sector.
