Egypt is stepping up its international marketing with the promotion of new products which the Egyptian Tourism Authority believes will lead to “transformative journeys for modern pilgrims”.

Among the new products, the most awaited is the 1 November opening of The Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), which the tourism authority calls, “a new global icon”.

Overlooking the Pyramids of Giza, GEM is the largest archaeological museum in the world dedicated to a single civilization — ancient Egypt.

It offers visitors rare artifacts, among them the full Tutankhamun collection displayed together for the first time, set within a space that blends history, technology and storytelling.

Egypt is launching a wave of new travel products, including boutique eco-lodges, cultural circuits, wellness retreats and luxury desert safaris.

Egypt’s investment focus is on eco-tourism which has grown significantly, especially around the Red Sea and Nile Valley.

The country has implemented stronger marine protection policies, promoted plastic-free tourism zones, and enhanced green certifications for hotels and operators.

Ahmed Youssef, CEO of the Egyptian Tourism Authority, added, “From the Grand Egyptian Museum to our expanding eco-tourism projects, and with investments in digital innovation and infrastructure, Egypt is future-ready and more welcoming than ever.

“Visitors can experience Egypt’s breathtaking biodiversity responsibly, whether diving in coral reefs, bird-watching in the Nile Delta, or trekking in the White Desert,”.
