In collaboration with five tourism industry associations, the
Singapore Tourism Board (STB) released the Safe Itinerary Guide and
“Experience Singapore!” Compendium, which provide safe travel guidelines
and a compilation of Singapore’s tourism offerings.
The two resources are the combined efforts of STB, the National
Association of Travel Agents Singapore (NATAS), Association of Singapore
Attractions (ASA), Singapore Association of Conventions &
Exhibitions Organisers (SACEOS), Singapore Hotel Association (SHA) and
Society of Tourist Guides Singapore (STGS).
As Singapore gears up for the long and winding road towards full
recovery and looks forward to receiving more international visitor
arrivals, the six tourism organisations hope that these resources can
educate and upskill the travel trade in innovating new experiences while
helping travellers stay safe.
“STB
has worked closely with our tourism partners to put these resources
together, so that thy can design travel itineraries that add value and
friction for their customers,” said Kenneth Lim, director, travel agents
and tourist guides, STB. “We hope that these resources will be useful
as Singapore progressively reopens our borders.”
Safe Itinerary Guide: Travelling with peace of mind
Alongside safe travel guidelines, this guide serves to support
tourism businesses in understanding travellers’ profiles, and in
developing an itinerary that best cater to each unique tourist while
keeping their health in mind. It also equips travel trade players with
the technical know-how behind data analytics and design thinking to
overcome future challenges.
Examples include exploring cross-sector partnerships with healthcare
providers as a safeguard for travellers, or gamifying the travel
experience.
“Experience Singapore!” Compendium: Creating extraordinary moments
The compendium is packed with tourism and lifestyle offerings
applicable for both leisure and business travellers, ranging in
different price points and interests. Some of its more unique listed
experiences include an aviation experiential workshop, a virtual reality
flight simulator or experiencing art through augmented reality.
“Covid-19 has changed the way people live and travel, and we hope to
encourage tourism businesses to develop creative and compelling
offerings, while providing a safe experience for visitors,” Charles Tan,
secretary general of NATAS and chairman of the Experience Singapore!
Committee shared.
