Silversea has unveiled details of the immersive land experiences guests can expect at The Cormorant at 55 South, a new hotel opening in January 2026 in Puerto Williams, Chile.
Located on Navarino Island in Tierra del Fuego, the property will serve as a pre-cruise base for guests embarking on Silversea’s Antarctica Fly Cruise sailings.
Set against one of the world’s most remote backdrops, guests can take part in guided kayaking along the Beagle Channel, wildlife-spotting excursions, and hikes through the Magellanic subpolar forests of Parque Municipal Ukika.
The area is home to guanacos, foxes, native horses and numerous bird species, including the cormorant, upland goose and condor.
“The Cormorant will be more than just a place to stay – it will become a new point for discovery at the edge of the world,” said Bert Hernandez, president of Silversea.
To streamline access, a new direct charter flight from Santiago to Puerto Williams will be introduced in the 2025–2026 season. The flight includes more spacious seating, inflight meal service, and dedicated check-in.
