Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH) has placed orders for three new ships, one each for Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises.
Each vessel will join an existing class: the Oceania Cruises ship will be a sister ship to Oceania Sonata, the Regent Seven Seas Cruises vessel will mirror Seven Seas Prestige, while the Norwegian Cruise Line ship will join the brand’s previously announced newbuild series.
All three ships have deliveries scheduled for between 2036 and 2037 from Italian shipbuilding company Fincantieri.
This also marks the first newbuild order after new CEO, John Chidsey took the helm earlier this month.
“This agreement secures access to valuable shipyard capacity through the end of 2037, supporting our long-term growth while maintaining financial discipline and driving sustainable shareholder value,” said Chidsey.
With this signing, NCLH now has 17 newbuilds on order, a strategic significance the brand says will expand its fleet while investing in next-generation ships.
Norwegian Cruise Line will receive eight newbuilds through 2037, five newbuilds for Oceania Cruises through 2037 and four newbuilds through 2036 for Regent Seven Seas Cruises.
