Silver Nova, one of Silversea’s latest vessels, has arrived in Alaska where it will introduce the SALT programme, connecting Silversea’s guests to the local culinary experiences, both on board and ashore.

SALT, an acronym for Sea and Land Taste, is Silversea’s culinary enrichment programme.

In Alaska, the SALT Kitchen will offer local dishes and delicacies, along with a SALT Lab class which explores ways to prepare salmon by Emma Teal Laukitis and Claire Neaton, who grew up on a homestead in Alaska’s remote Aleutian Islands.

In the evenings, SALT Lab transforms to the SALT Chef’s Table, Silversea’s interactive dining experience showcasing local ingredients and creatively reimagined staple dishes.

Silver Nova and her sister ship Silver Ray – due to launch in mid-May – are 40% more energy efficient than required international standards and regulations.

Silversea, as part of Royal Caribbean Group, is expanding its support for the port communities in Alaska. Examples of local initiatives include the Ketchikan Salmon Walk which reveals the tale of the salmon migration and life cycle in Ketchikan Creek.
