Silversea has unveiled its latest ship, the Silver Nova, in a formal naming ceremony held in Fort Lauderdale on 4 January.

During the ceremony, Chef Nina Compton, recognised for her culinary expertise and advocacy for Caribbean cuisine, was announced as the ship's godmother.

“Silver Nova is a game changer, a new vision for the ultra-luxury travel experience,” said Jason Liberty. “We will continue to push boundaries and innovate the vacation experience in 2024 with our three global brands that, together, turn the vacation of a lifetime into a lifetime of vacations for our guests around the world.”

The Silver Nova boasts an innovative design, utilising approximately 4,000sqm of glass to provide expansive views from various angles, and offers a space-to-guest ratio of 75 Gross Registered Tonnage-per-guest, among the most spacious in Silversea's fleet.

“It is fitting that we officially named Silver Nova – a truly pioneering ship – in the same year Silversea celebrates its 30th anniversary: the ship connects our history with our tomorrow, striking a perfect balance between our Brand’s refined heritage and the future of ultra-luxury cruise travel,” said Barbara Muckermann, president of Silversea.

Having embarked on its maiden voyage from Venice in August 2023, the Silver Nova now begins its Grand Voyage across 38 destinations in South America over 71 days, marking the ship's inaugural journey after the formal naming ceremony in Fort Lauderdale.
