Scenic Group is marking its 40th anniversary this October with guest and partner celebrations worldwide, alongside a fleet expansion programme that will add river ships, Indian itineraries and yacht capacity across Asia and beyond through 2028.

Guests travelling with Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours and Emerald Cruises & Tours during the month are being offered special dining events, themed entertainment and commemorative experiences. Selected loyalty departures also feature anniversary events hosted by group management.

Founded in Australia in 1986, the group has grown into a travel business spanning all seven continents. Founder and chairman Glen Moroney said the milestone was an opportunity to recognise the guests, partners, crew and teams behind that growth.

“This anniversary is an opportunity to thank our valued guests, partners, crew and teams around the world who have shaped Scenic Group’s success,” he said.

The anniversary comes as Scenic prepares to broaden the product portfolio available to travel partners. In Asia, the group will introduce journeys on India’s Hooghly River in 2027, followed by the launch of Scenic Spirit II and Scenic Spirit III on the Mekong in 2028.

Its Asia-Pacific ocean offering will also expand in 2028, when Scenic Eclipse II returns to the region and Emerald Xara joins the fleet.

The product pipeline follows investment in regional commercial operations, with the group announcing an expansion of its Singapore-based Asia-Pacific team in March alongside its new-ship programme.

Beyond Asia, Emerald Lumi will introduce Emerald Cruises & Tours to the Seine in 2027. Emerald Raiya will join the brand’s yacht fleet that year, followed by Emerald Xara in 2028.

Scenic Ikon is scheduled to debut in the Mediterranean in April 2028, with Antarctica included in its inaugural season, expanding the Scenic Discovery Yachts collection.

Moroney said fleet ownership and operation helped the group translate guest feedback into product development.

“Designing, building, owning and operating our own fleet gives us greater control over the guest experience and the ability to translate those insights into new benchmarks in luxury cruising,” he said.
