Royal Caribbean International is set to launch its new Icon Class
ship, Star of the Seas, in the summer of 2025. This upcoming vessel
follows the highly debut of Icon of the Seas.
Star of the Seas aims to combine various vacation elements unique to
the Icon Class, including beach retreats, resort escapes, and theme park
adventures, providing an array of experiences for families and
adventurers. Currently under construction in Turku, Finland, the ship's
features are yet to be unveiled.
“The idea of combining the best of every type of vacation into one
ultimate adventure has created more excitement than ever anticipated,
and Star of the Seas will be the next bold answer to the record-breaking
consumer demand we’ve seen for nearly a year and counting with Icon of
the Seas,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean
International.
Since Icon of the Seas' debut, the ship has generated record-breaking
booking numbers and led to the early release of 2025-2026 sailings.
Similar to its sister ship, Star of the Seas will also contribute to
the cruise line's sustainability efforts, being the third ship of the
cruise line’s fleet to be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG).
It will incorporate various environmental programmes, including waste
heat recovery systems and shore power connections, aligning with the
Royal Caribbean Group's goal of achieving a net-zero cruise ship by
2035. Further details about Star will be disclosed at a later date.
