Qatar is preparing to launch a new ship at a new cruise terminal.

MSC World Europa will be named on 13 November at Doha’s Grand Cruise Terminal, a state-of-the-art 24,000 sqm facility that will have the capacity to handle two cruise ships and up to 28,000 passengers a day.

The terminal will include an aquarium and a gallery that specialises in Islamic art.

The ship will be docked at the Grand Terminal in Doha Port throughout the duration of the FIFA World Cup, acting as a floating hotel.

The 2626-cabin MSC World Europa includes six pools and 14 whirlpool baths, a Balinese-style wellness centre and spa, a beauty salon, a fully equipped gym and 13 dining venues.

After the FIFA World Cup, the ship will make her maiden voyage on 20 December, offering 7-night cruises to Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sir Bani Yas Island, plus Dammam, Saudi Arabia.

From March 2023, the ship will move to the Mediterranean where she will offer 7-night cruises to the Italian ports of Genoa, Naples and Messina, as well as Valletta in Malta, Barcelona and Marseille.
