Virgin Voyages has launched a ‘breakup hotline’ just in time for Valentine’s Day.
The breakup hotline is an answering machine voiced by Chris Burns (@PhatCarrieBradshaw), where callers leave messages to say goodbye to whatever’s not working or wasting their time – including “loyalty issues with the wrong cruise line”.
Calling the line a safe space, and a reminder that there’s always a better situationship, callers are invited to ‘break up’ with anything from kid-filled pools, people who talk on speaker mode in crowds, to loyalty programmes with hidden blackout dates and fine prints.
This campaign syncs with Virgin Voyages’ enhanced status match programme, where travellers can port existing loyalty status from over 35 cruise lines, hotels or airlines – and directly into guests' benefits sans earning requirements or blackout dates.
Callers can dial in between 3 to 28 February 2026 to leave their breakup messages.
