Disney Cruise Line is poised to significantly enhance its presence in Asia with plans for two new ships in the region.

The unnamed ship will be homeported in Japan year-round. It will be
modelled after the Disney Wish, the largest vessel in Disney's fleet,
with select modifications specially designed with Japanese guests in
mind. It is expected to be approximately 140,000 gross tons and powered
by liquefied natural gas, with about 1,250 staterooms and a guest
capacity of around 4,000.
It seems that Disney Cruise Line is making a big move into Asia, following the previously revealed Singapore-based Disney Adventure scheduled to sail in 2025.
The cruise line has three new ships in the works, of which two will be
homeported in the region. Disney Cruise Line's current fleet consists of
five ships, most of which are homeported in North America, Europe, and
Oceania.
"To set sail from Japan will make Disney vacations at sea more
accessible to Japanese guests, who we know are some of our biggest
fans," said Thomas Mazloum, president of Disney Signature Experiences.
According to Josh D'Amaro, chairman of Disney Experiences, the
company's cruise offerings are attracting a significant number of
first-time cruisers.
He revealed that 40% of their current passengers choose Disney
cruises exclusively, indicating the brand's power to create new market
demand.
D'Amaro expressed confidence that this trend will continue with the new Singapore-based ship, citing strong consumer interest in Disney-related experiences across Asia.
