China-based Adora Cruises has floated out its second domestically built large cruise ship, Adora Flora City, from Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipyard on 20 March.
At 341 metres – about 17 metres longer than sister ship Adora Magic City – the newbuild maintains a similar capacity of 2,130 cabins and suites, while introducing significantly expanded public spaces, including an atrium twice the size.
Facilities include 26 F&B options, a 1,000 seat grand theatre, shopping mall, gym and spa, art gallery, and a kids' club. Advanced smart technology will also be featured across cabins and public zones.
Currently about 94% complete, Adora Flora City just entered wharf commissioning stage, and will receive an accelerated interior installation and systems commissioning stage, said the cruise line operator, Adora Cruises.
The newbuild, inspired by Guangzhou’s designation as the "Flower City", is set to provide international voyages from Guangzhou once completed. It is scheduled for delivery by the end of this year.
Simultaneously, the Guangzhou Nansha International Cruise Home Port has updated custom clearance services, so passenger clearance time is reduced to as little as five seconds.
