China's first domestically-built cruise liner, the Adora Magic City, wrapped up its debut commercial voyage on 7 January after setting sail on a seven-day adventure with over 3,000 passengers. The ship returned to Shanghai's Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal after a 1,119 nautical mile expedition.

Setting sail on 1 January, the Adora Magic City traversed to South Korea's picturesque Jeju Island and Japan's vibrant cities of Nagasaki and Fukuoka before concluding its journey at the Wusongkou terminal. The maiden voyage not only showcased the vessel's capabilities but also offered guests a unique blend of cultural experiences and entertainment.

During the sailing, passengers were treated to enlightening lectures by experts from the Dunhuang Academy, featuring the renowned murals of the Mogao Grottoes, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Gansu Province.

Measuring 323.6 meters in length and weighing 135,500 tonnes, the Adora Magic City boasts 2,125 guest rooms across its 16 decks, offering extensive public space spanning 40,000 square metres for leisure and recreation.

Tailored for the Chinese market, the cruise ship's offerings span from authentic Chinese and international cuisine to entertaining shows and diverse shopping experiences, merging Eastern and Western cultures.

Partnering with China Duty Free Group, the ship boasts the largest duty-free retail space at sea, covering approximately 2,000 square metres. Additionally, it hosts thrilling facilities for children and teens, including a water park, a sea-view rope garden, and a state-of-the-art VR game center.

Moreover, the Adora Magic City stands distinguished as the first cruise ship to house a live comedy theatre at sea, a collaboration with Mahua FunAge, a prominent Chinese comedy production firm. The vessel also houses an onboard art gallery displaying classic murals from the Dunhuang Grottoes, partnering with Dunhuang Academy.

The vessel's future plans include voyages to Southeast Asian countries, offering an array of short to long-haul options, and introducing the Maritime Silk Road route.
