Carnival Cruise Line is boosting its security team with the imminent appointment of a supervisor to monitor alcohol consumption onboard and a youth security officer to look after the welfare of young passengers.

Carnival has advertised for two new security-related roles: an RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) supervisor and a youth security officer.

The supervisor’s role will be to monitor alcohol consumption onboard of adult passengers and ensure that minors under the US drinking age of 21 don’t have access to alcohol.

The supervisor will also enforce age restrictions in onboard casinos, nightclubs, gymnasiums, and pool/spa/Jacuzzi areas.

Carnival already has a strict 1am curfew for all guests under the age of 18.

Carnival has a Cheers! drinks package that allows for up to 15 alcoholic drinks in a 24-hour period. Bar staff, restaurant servers, and security team members can intervene if a passenger becomes too intoxicated before they meet their daily Cheers! package limit.
