SINGAPORE - The 15th World Gourmet Summit opened on 25 April 2011 at the Marina Bay Sands. A strong Asian presence will be felt at this year’s event with the participation of seven chefs from the Asian culinary capitals of China, India, Japan and Korea – the highest ever number of Asian chefs at a World Gourmet Summit event. Converging in Singapore for the region’s most esteemed gourmet extravaganza include world renowned Asian chefs such as celebrity chef Edward Kwon and masterchef Yim Jung Sik from South Korea, one-Michelin-starred master-chef Tam Kwok Fung from Macau, China; masterchef Manish Mehrotra from New Delhi, India; and three Japanese chefs: one-Michelin-starred masterchef Keisuke Matsushima, masterchef Shinichiro Takagi and masterchef Yuji Wakiya.
