Concert tourism is rising across Asia, and Macao is fast becoming one of the region’s most versatile and value-packed destinations for live music lovers. For travel agents, it’s a golden opportunity: world-class performances, integrated resorts, and rich cultural experiences make it easy to build compelling packages that span generations and budgets.

A star-studded destination for all ages

When it comes to world-class entertainment in Asia, Macao has long been a headline act. In recent years, the city has welcomed blockbuster performers such as Blackpink, Bruno Mars, The Chainsmokers, Jackson Wang, and Westlife, drawing music lovers from across the region.

This year’s lineup continues to strike a chord with fans of all ages. K-pop superstars Super Junior, TWICE, and Baekhyun will enjoy the spotlight in this cultural hub, along with long-time legends like Air Supply and Eason Chan.

Meanwhile, Red Velvet’s subunit IRENE&SEULG, Aaron Kwok, and Sammi Cheng as well as actor-comedian Jimmy O. Yang have already graced the stage in 2025, further cementing Macao’s growing reputation as a must-visit destination for concerts and live acts.

World-class venues + seamless hospitality

Macao’s ability to lure global acts is no coincidence. Its integrated resorts seamlessly combine performance venues, luxury accommodation, fine dining, and leisure experiences, making it an ideal destination for concert tourism.

The city is well-connected, with visitors arriving by air, land, and sea. With over 43,000 hotel rooms, visitors can choose from time-tested icons like the Four Seasons Hotel Macao and The Parisian Macao to exciting newcomers such as W Macao, Palazzo Versace Macau, and Raffles at Galaxy Macau.

The city’s venues are equally impressive. Galaxy Arena, opened in 2023, is Macao’s largest indoor venue with 16,000 seats, unobstructed 360-degree views, and cutting-edge audio-visual systems.

Meanwhile, the revamped Venetian Arena – formerly known as the Cotai Arena – boasts upgraded acoustics, retractable seating, VIP suites, and advanced digital infrastructure, making it perfect for large-scale concerts and sporting events.

For more intimate events, the Londoner Arena offers amphitheatre-style seating for up to 6,000 guests, while Studio City Event Center provides a plush 5,000-seat venue with exclusive VIP suites.

Looking ahead, Macao is preparing to welcome even bigger crowds. The SAR government has begun trials for its first large-scale outdoor performance venue near the Grand Lisboa Palace. With a capacity of 50,000, it has already attracted the attention of major international acts.

In June, EXO’s Kai serenaded fans at The Londoner Arena, which offers amphitheatre-style seating for up to 6,000 guests.

Fan events that deepen the experience

Adding to the excitement, many concerts are paired with exclusive fan events. When Blackpink’s Jisoo toured Asia earlier this year, fans flocked to a special meet-and-greet at Galaxy Arena. Park Bo-gum’s upcoming fan meet at The Londoner Arena in September is expected to draw similar crowds. These activations not only enhance the concert experience but also encourage visitors to stay longer and engage more deeply with the city.

What to do between concerts in Macao

Music may be the hook, but what keeps travellers in Macao is the diverse array of experiences that agents can bundle into concert travel packages:

For visitors with 24 hours in the city, a pre- or post-concert itinerary might include a stroll through the UNESCO-listed Historic Centre of Macao, a visit to the iconic Ruins of St. Paul’s, and a taste of the city’s famous Portuguese egg tarts. In the evening, catch the dazzling House of Dancing Water show.

Those with 36 hours or more can slow down and savour the city’s quieter charms. Explore Coloane Village for its laid-back seaside vibe, take a scenic walk along Taipa’s heritage trails, or immerse yourself in art at the Macao Museum of Art. Food lovers can sample everything from street-side pork chop buns to Michelin-starred Cantonese and French cuisine.

For a more indulgent escape, visitors can book into one of Macao’s luxury resorts for spa treatments, rooftop pool lounging, and curated wellness experiences before heading to their concert.
