Dubai had edged out one of Australia’s iconic beaches in a survey of
the world’s best beach destinations suitable for family tourism.
Dubai’s beaches ranked second in the world behind Guanacaste Province
in Costa Rica and ahead of the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia.
The report by travel insurance comparison site, InsureMyTrip, looked
at everything from average sea temperatures, the cost of water
activities and attractions, cleanliness of the beaches and safety of the
seas.
The Beach at Jumeirah Beach Residence and Sunset Beach in Umm Suqeim,
where the view of the Burj Al Arab hotel is a favourite for photos and
selfies, were among Dubai’s highly-rated beaches.
Dubai is continuing to develop its beaches, with plans for more night
swimming beach areas, beach cycling paths, and designated ladies-only
beaches.
With three destinations on the list, Australia is the best represented country in the survey.
