New Shan Travel ramps up agency services to address one of the current pain points in travel – Covid-19 testing. Its collaboration with Collinson facilitates seamless and secure bookings for a range of pre-departure tests, including polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR), antigen and serology tests before embarking on overseas trips.
This service is important in catering to travellers departing from Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom — with special packages also available for students.
New Shan customers are able to log into Collinson’s secure portal to request an appointment for a pre-departure test with their preferred in-city clinic from a given list of testing facilities.
Upon completion of their test, customers will automatically receive notification of their test results within 36 hours; which if negative, can then be used for travel.
This partnership, effective since 18 August, comes on the heels of a Collinson research conducted together with Centre for Aviation (CAPA) that highlighted the opinions of over 330 C-Suite and senior managerial-level travel experts globally.
Results indicate 51% of Asia Pacific-based respondents expect that robust testing protocols will remain key to reopening global borders until end-2022, while 32% believe robust testing protocols will remain key for the next three years. Only 13% expect testing to be phased out in 2021 in line with vaccine roll-outs.
