The Singapore Tourism Board (STB) has started issuing all Travel Agent licences electronically via the Travel Agents and Tourist Guides Licensing System (TRUST) with effect from 15 September in a bid to go digital and to streamline processes.

Through this digital means, travel agents are able to receive their licences sooner, with waiting times for licence application and renewals cut by half. The licence can also be accessed online via the TRUST portal for travel agents to download and print for display.

The electronic licence will now feature a QR code for consumers to scan in order to verify the authenticity of the travel agent, and the licence validity period will be displayed more prominently.

Licences issued before 15 September remain valid until the end of the licence period, which is 31 December 2023 or earlier.

The transition to the electronic licence only involves changes to licence design and its mode of delivery. Travel agents are still required to adhere to regulations on licence display.
