ITE Hong Kong 2019 is expected to be the city’s biggest travel fair yet, thanks to the opening of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge that will bring the island closer to mainland China.

This allows for greater integration of the cluster of Hong Kong and Chinese cities, and will boost ITE’s coverage on the Bay area as well as other parts of China.
ITE Hong Kong organiser TKS Exhibitions has released figures from its 2018 fair that point to steady growth of China’s travel market. Last year, it saw 20 stands and some 2000 buyers and trade visitors just from nine Guangdong cities.
China’s official pavilion was one of the largest among the country exhibitors with around 90 stands, and trade buyers and visitors from China were the largest group after those from Hong Kong.
The Bay, with major source markets of Hong Kong, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, constitutes a large outbound market. The area has a cumulative GDP of US$1.69 trillion and a population of 68 million. Closer integration of the cities would thus make it easier for them to make joint offers to draw more inbound tourists.
Next year’s chapter of ITE Hong Kong will be held from June 13 to 16 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
