RX Global has announced the cancellation of its IBTM Asia Pacific
event, originally scheduled to take place in Hong Kong on 19-20 March
2025 at the AsiaWorld Expo.
The decision follows a statement from event director Claudia Hall,
indicating that the ongoing growth in outbound meetings and business
travel from the APAC region, along with increased international
participation at IBTM World, contributed to this outcome.
Hall stated, “The continued global increase in the outbound meeting
and business travel market, specifically from the APAC region, and the
coinciding growth in international representation at IBTM World has led
us to announce that IBTM APAC will no longer take place as scheduled in
2025.”
This is the second time RX Global has struggled to establish IBTM
World in the APAC region, with a previous attempt planned for Marina Bay
Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore in April 2020, which was
thwarted by the pandemic.
