MATTA Fair has once again outdone itself, closing its September 2025 edition as the largest in its history. Held from 5–7 September at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur, the 57th edition drew a record 2,049 booths from 334 participating companies.
Officiated by Surrendren Sathasivam, Deputy Secretary General (Management), representing YB Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, the event was officially recognised by the Malaysia Book of Records as the Largest Consumers’ Travel Fair.
Sabah took the spotlight as Malaysia’s Favourite Destination, alongside partners RHB Bank as Exclusive Platinum Sponsor, Malaysia Aviation Group as Official Airline Partner and Premier Sponsor, AmLeisure as Media Partner, and sponsors Mayoly and Duria.
The fair also showcased its largest-ever MATTA Eco & Sustainable Tourism Initiative (MESTI) pavilion, supported by RHB Bank, Sabah Tourism Board, Penang Global Tourism, Resorts World Genting, Royal Selangor, AMPSPA, Easy Motorbike and Pos Malaysia. Independent auditors measured the carbon footprint of the fair across all three days.
Visitors took part in activities such as the Buyers’ Contest with prizes including roundtrip tickets to Paris, Japan and Perth, plus an EV bike; the Ride & Reels campaign encouraging sustainable travel vlogs; and the Spin & Win game at Hall 5 for exclusive merchandise.
“This MATTA Fair is a bold step toward a more sustainable and connected future,” said Nigel Wong, president of MATTA.
