JTB Corp has reached an agreement to acquire all shares of All Wise Holdings, the operator of Bangkok-based EXO Travel Group, in a move that significantly strengthens the Japanese travel giant's destination management capabilities across Asia.
Part of JTB’s strategy to strengthen its global destination management company (DMC) network, the acquisition is expected to expand JTB's reach in key outbound markets including Europe, North America and Australia, while enhancing travel flows into Asia, including Japan. It also supports the group's transition from a Japan-centric business model towards a globally interconnected network.
Led by CEO Hamish Keith, EXO Travel is a leading DMC specialising in intra-Asia travel, operating primarily across Asia Pacific, with additional offices in Egypt and Morocco. Over the past three decades, the company has built a strong B2B network, connecting travel partners in Europe, North America and Australia with destinations across Asia Pacific.
Following the acquisition, EXO Travel's customer base and destination expertise will be integrated into JTB's existing global DMC operations. The move is expected to strengthen JTB's position in Asia while supporting its ambition to become one of the world's leading DMC networks.
The transaction advances JTB’s ongoing growth strategy, moving from a traditional Japan-centric business model to a global network of interconnected regions.
JTB said Asia would increasingly be treated as a unified travel region, allowing the group to better respond to rising demand for multi-country itineraries. Through its expanded DMC footprint, the company aims to facilitate greater global travel exchanges and create what it describes as enriching "Human Moments" that connect people, destinations and opportunities.
