Chan Brothers Travel has launched its first range of Australia tours
with a focus on catering to Singaporeans’ preferences when it comes to
travelling to the land down under, following an announcement that
Australia would reopen its borders to all vaccinated Singaporeans.
Singapore will start welcoming fully vaccinated Australian travellers
into its country on 8 November under its Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL)
scheme. Meanwhile, fully vaccinated Singaporeans will be able to travel
to parts of Australia and back without quarantine in either country from
21 November.
According
to Ann Lim, country manager of Singapore for Tourism Australia whose
role is to implement strategic directions in driving Tourism Australia’s
activities and partnerships in Singapore, before the pandemic occurred,
“Singapore was Australia’s sixth largest inbound market for visitors’
arrival, and seventh largest market for visitor spend.”
“Australia’s reopening to Singaporean leisure travellers is another
step in the right direction of leisure tourism recovery,” Anthony Chan,
managing director of Chan Brothers Group said.
Tourism Australia will be working closely alongside the
Singapore-based travel agency in “promoting their wide range of tours to
Singapore travellers, as we move positively along the recovery of
outbound leisure tourism to Australia,” Lim shared.
The two-way quarantine-free travel between Singapore and Australia,
coupled with Chan Brothers’ quick decisive action to launch its
Australia tour packages could not have come at a better time. Numerous
booking platforms have reported an upward trend of Singaporeans
browsing, enquiring, and booking destinations under the VTL scheme in
anticipation of the upcoming holiday season.
