The Ascott Limited is having quite the European moment, signing seven new properties totalling nearly 1,100 units across Vienna and Seville, bringing its European portfolio to 64 properties across 26 cities in 10 countries.
The announcement was made at the official opening of lyf Gambetta Paris on 16 October, marking the brand's entry into France. The 140-unit property in the 20th arrondissement is the third lyf location to open in Europe.
Five of the new signings are in Vienna, expanding Ascott's partnership with VIE Trust Real Estate Group. The additions will increase the company's Vienna portfolio to nine properties with nearly 1,400 units. A second lyf-branded property of 150 units is scheduled to open by the end of 2026 in the city's 15th district, near the train station.
The remaining two properties will be located in Seville as part of the Lagoon City resort development – a 12.5-hectare mixed-use project featuring a man-made lagoon. The 250-unit lyf and 120-unit Somerset properties, set to open at the end of 2028, mark Ascott's first beachside resort project in Europe. The development is a partnership with Forty Management SA.
Kevin Goh, CEO of Ascott, said: "By deepening Ascott's asset-light model in Europe through franchise and management agreements, we are scaling efficiently while building long-term brand equity across one of the world's most attractive hospitality markets."
The company is also expanding The Unlimited Collection brand in Europe, with three properties now operational in Edinburgh, Dublin and Leicester.
