Ovolo Hotels has opened its first property in Indonesia, the MAMAKA by Ovolo — offering 191 keys, a wellness zone and lessons with local surfers among other offerings to "bring back the good vibrations" to Bali.

“Kuta is definitely in need of something new and fresh to attract more modern and lifestyle‐oriented visitors to the area through vibrant colours, design, and a focus on details,” said a spokesperson from interior design firm, Ara Design.

This includes a 3D butterfly‐shaped artwork when guests step into through the hotel entrance, and Australian photojournalist Jason Childs' works — focused on Balinese culture and the surfing scene — in all rooms.

As a nod to the Kuta‐Legian neighborhood, known for its lively entertainment scene, the Swagger and Top Gun suites offer a private mini‐bar equipped with a shaker, jigger, strainer, long bar spoon and more, allowing guests to concoct their own in‐room cocktails.

For guests keen to explore the famous surfing scene, Ovolo teamed up with Quiksilver Bali Surf Academy's ISA‐certified coaches to provide surfing lessons for hotel guests.

Amenities include three F&B options; a Wellness Zone offering equipment such as the TRX, Boxing, the iconic balancing surfboard and more; as well as an upcoming event spaces launch by end October.
