Club Med will open its first resort in the Gulf states, with the signing of the Club Med Musandam project in Oman.

Club Med has partnered with government-linked Royal Court Affairs and the Omran Group to develop the beachside resort on the Strait of Hormuz.

Omran is the Oman Tourism Development Company, a government-owned company mandated to drive the investment, growth and development of the tourism sector in the Sultanate of Oman.

“This collaboration with Club Med is an important step that is in line with the objective of Omran vision 2040 to boost the inflow of international tourists to the sultanate,” said Salim bin Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, minister of heritage and tourism.

Construction of Club Med Musandam is expected to start in early 2026 with the resort opening scheduled for 2028.

Musandam’s jagged fjord-like coastline, backed by the Hajar mountains, has earned it the nickname ‘Norway of Arabia’. The hinterland is one of the few places to see the authentic Bedouin lifestyle and traditions.

The 300-room resort - part of Club Med’s Exclusive Collection - is five minutes by boat from Khasab city and two and half hours from Dubai International Airport.

It will offer a full holistic well-being experience , including spa, fitness centre, yoga school and an adult-only Zen pool and bar.
