The growing appeal of sports and entertainment events to drive tourism is behind a move by global agency, 54, to appointed Daniel Wright as head of tourism.
Wright will help destinations increase global visibility and inbound visits while facilitating connectivity across destination stakeholders to leverage the collective strength of tourism assets.
He will also consult on national development programmes on behalf of governments, tourism authorities, owners and investors.
Most recently, Wright worked for Miral Destinations alongside the Department of Culture and Tourism of Abu Dhabi to promote all assets on Saadiyat Island.
54 is a sports and entertainment agency operating across five regions and nine offices: United Kingdom (London), Europe (Sotogrande, Spain), MENA (Riyadh and Dubai), APAC (Singapore, Vietnam and Adelaide) and USA (West Palm Beach, Florida).
Wright said 54’s growing footprint would bring new opportunities to destinations seeking to increase their share of the international travel market.
"Our service set is ideally positioned to deliver holistic solutions, both upstream in areas like strategic advisory and commercial strategy, and in downstream with events and marketing,” he said.
