Back in 2020, Rina Mariani made the headlines when she became Hyatt Indonesia’s first female general manager for Andaz Bali.
Now, the hospitality stalwart plans “to raise the flag for Park Hyatt
in Cambodia” under her new role as general manager of Park Hyatt Siem
Reap.
Having grown up in the popular tourist destination of Nusa Dua in
Bali, Mariani always felt a calling for the hospitality industry. “As a
Balinese soul, it is in my nature to receive guests and feel sincere
empathy,” she says. “Also, I think the hospitality profession is simply
amazing. It’s more than just a job — it’s a lifestyle.”
Mariani made a name for herself in the Hyatt Hotels Corporation,
having served more than 20 years with the company. She first joined
Hyatt in 2000 as a convention services manager at Grand Hyatt Bali.
Over the next two decades, she rose through events, sales, marketing
and management ranks at Shangri-La’s Golden Sands Resort and Rasa Sayang
Resort & Spa, both in Penang; Park Hyatt Dubai, Hyatt Regency Dubai
Creek Heights & Residences, and Hotel Equatorial Penang.
Thereafter, she became general manager at Andaz Bali, and two years
later, the new general manager of Park Hyatt Siem Reap.
“The pandemic has affected us all greatly, and reopening the hotel,
rebuilding the team with existing associates and finding new momentum
and business opportunities are my key areas of focus in the year ahead,”
she says of her new appointment.
