Sindhorn Kempinski Hotel Bangkok has appointed Christian Ruge as the new general manager, effective 1 August 2023.

With a global career in hotel management and leadership that spans across Europe, US, the Middle East, and Asia, Ruge was most recently the general manager at Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena in the ski resort town of Bansko in Bulgaria.

Ruge's professional journey began at Hotel InterContinental Frankfurt in Germany, where he progressively ascended the ranks, subsequently overseeing top-tier properties for the group across Europe and the US. His tenure at Sofitel Hotels & Resorts followed, encompassing key roles like general manager at the iconic Sofitel Winter Palace Luxor in Egypt and the historic Sofitel Wroclaw Old Town in Poland.

In 2012, he embarked on his journey with Kempinski Hotels, amassing a wealth of diverse international experience within the brand. This includes successful leadership stints in Saudi Arabia (Burj Rafal Hotel Kempinski Riyadh), the United Arab Emirates (Kempinski Hotel Ajman), and China (Kempinski Hotel Taiyuan).

Hailing from Essen, Germany, Ruge holds an MBA in General Management from Cornell University in the US.
