Costa Cruises has recently made key changes to its senior leadership team as part of Carnival Corporation's broader efforts to enhance operations and mobilise the global organisation prior to the resumption of cruising.
Michael Thamm, group CEO of Costa Group & Carnival Asia, will take on the additional role of president.
Neil Palomba, who was most recently president at Costa Cruises, is now appointed as executive vice president and COO for Carnival Cruise Line. Palomba will continue to oversee the resumption of Costa operations in the next weeks to ensure a smooth transition while progressively taking over the new responsibilities.
Mario Zanetti is named chief commercial officer of Costa Cruises and will be based in Genoa in his new role. He is responsible for the overall commercial operation of the company, reporting to Thamm, while keeping his role of president at Costa Group Asia.
"The current pause in our cruise operations has given us the opportunity of redesigning every aspect of our business, from our commercial strategy, to product design including our organisational structure to make sure we come back stronger when we resume operations,“ said Thamm.
