From 1 March, Omer Acar will take up the role of CEO under Accor’s Raffles and Orient Express brands.
The luxury hospitality specialist will be based in New York in the
Luxury & Lifestyle Executive Committee, working alongside other
brand CEOs and reporting directly to Accor’s chairman and CEO Sebastien
Bazin.
In addition to helming the Raffles and Orient Express, Acar will also
represent Accor in the North American market as the group taps on his
expertise to extend its reach and recognition in the United States.
Acar joins Accor after a nine-year stint with Katara Hospitality as
managing director of Europe and the Americas, where he helmed 18 hotels
including the Plaza in New York, Peninsula in Paris, Carlton in Cannes,
Excelsior in Rome, Grosvenor House and Savoy in London.
His career kicked off at the Four Seasons where he worked in various
operational positions across multiple hotels in the United States and
Egypt. He then made the move to Harrods in England as Group Director of
Food & Beverage in 2005. In 2006, Acar was appointed GM of the Ritz
in Paris. He then assumed the role of GM in Royal Monceau Raffles in
2011.
