HONG KONG – The 213-room Mandarin Oriental, Macau, opened Tuesday in the destination enclave. The luxury hotel has a holistic Spa at Mandarin Oriental, a comprehensive fitness centre, a temperature controlled outdoor swimming pool, a range of event spaces and the Vida Rica restaurant and bar. Speaking at Tuesday’s opening ceremony, Martin Schnider, general manager, said: “I believe that today’s opening will bring a new dimension of luxury to this exciting city and we are delighted to welcome all of you to the warmth of Mandarin Oriental, Macau.” Andrew Hirst, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group’s operations director, Asia added: “The achievement of today’s events could not have happened without the vision, commitment and dedication of our partners, and I would like to particularly thank Shun Tak Holdings and HongKong Land, the owners of this magnificent property for their passion in creating this landmark hotel in Macau.” The hotel’s opening package rates start from HKD2,188 (US$ 281) per night. This includes one complimentary consecutive night’s accommodation or a dining or spa credit valued at MOP388 (US$48).
