SYDNEY: Intrepid Travel has acquired Cambodian destination management company Asian Roads for an undisclosed sum. The wholesaler said with 4000 travellers heading to Cambodia on one its tours each year, it needed own on-the-ground operational staff. Chief executive Darrell Wade said: “We established a joint venture in Vietnam 18 months ago and an operations company in Thailand earlier this year. Cambodia was the missing link.” Asian Roads has staff in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap and owns vehicles, property and a guest house. (this article first appeared in TravelWeekly www.travelweekly.com.au)
