Singapore-based coliving brand, lyf, is celebrating its fifth anniversary by launching a global travelling art showcase in collaboration with local contemporary artist Jahan Loh.
The installation, titled The Door of Cosmic Dreams, is a symbol of lyf’s ambition to push the boundaries of travel and hospitality, offering new experiences for the next-generation traveller.
Initially displayed at lyf Funan Singapore from 15 to 26 October 2024, the art installation will visit various lyf properties worldwide, including stops in Tokyo, Paris, Manila, and Bangkok. Loh’s work is inspired by French writer Guy de Maupassant’s idea of travel as a passage to unexplored realms, aligning with lyf's aim to create fresh, experience-led living spaces.
Serena Lim, chief growth officer of The Ascott Limited, lyf's parent company, stated: “Since its inception as a coliving brand in Singapore in 2019, lyf has evolved into a global leader in experience-led social living.”
As part of the celebrations, lyf will also open five new properties this year across Cebu, Frankfurt, and Penang, with expansion plans for cities such as London, Glasgow, and Sydney by 2028.
Adeline Phua, Managing lyf Partner, added: “As we celebrate the fifth anniversary of lyf, we are excited to partner with the talented Jahan Loh… marking the first of many collaborations to deepen our engagement with communities around the world.”
The travelling exhibition marks a significant milestone for the brand, showcasing lyf’s commitment to combining hospitality with contemporary art and culture.
