Waldorf Astoria has made its long-awaited Malaysian debut with the opening of Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur in Bukit Bintang, the capital's vibrant Golden Triangle district, close to Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and the Petronas Twin Towers.
The first Waldorf Astoria property in Malaysia features 268 residential-style suites ranging from 80sqm to 745sqm. Interiors blend contemporary luxury with Malaysian craftsmanship, incorporating natural stone, warm timber, woven textiles and handcrafted details.
Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur also boasts the brand’s iconic clock, positioned at the entrance to Peacock Alley, the hotel's social heart and traditional meeting place and which combines soaring ceilings, stone-clad columns and Songket-inspired textiles.

Peacock Alley, the hotel’s signature lounge, centres on an astrolabe-inspired clock, introducing Waldorf Astoria’s “Meet Me at the Clock” tradition to Kuala Lumpur.
The hotel's commitment to local heritage extends to its art collection, curated in collaboration with the Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia. Highlights include a monumental 19th-century painting of Qajar princes in the Grand Lobby, alongside works by leading Malaysian artists that reflect the city's cultural identity and creative spirit.
Dining options include Yaari, featuring Indian cuisine by Garima Arora, the chef behind Bangkok’s two-Michelin-starred Gaa. French chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, whose flagship New York restaurant also holds two Michelin stars, brings JG KL, abc kitchens KL and The Bar by JG to the hotel.
For downtime, the 2,275 sqm Waldorf Astoria Spa spans two floors, offering La Prairie treatments and a visiting-practitioner programme covering fitness, nutrition, yoga and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
The hotel offers 3,745 sqm of gathering space. Facilities include a 1,545 sqm Grand Ballroom accommodating up to 2,500 guests for receptions and a dedicated Executive Hub for meetings and corporate gatherings.
