IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed two Noted Collection hotels in Tokyo, marking the premium brand’s entry into Japan. The properties will open in Shinjuku and Ginza under separate ownership partnerships.

The first, a 207-room hotel in Shinjuku’s Kabukicho district, is being developed with SC Capital Partners. Located near Golden Gai, the existing property will be renovated and rebranded before its planned opening in 2027. Its lobby will connect to a restaurant and café area.

The second signing is an 81-room new-build hotel in Ginza 8-chome, in partnership with An Consulting. Scheduled to open in 2029, it will be Japan’s first newly built Noted Collection hotel and IHG’s first property in Ginza. Plans include family-friendly suites, a restaurant and bar, and a fitness centre.

“Owners are increasingly looking for flexible brand solutions that allow hotels to maintain their individuality while benefiting from IHG’s global scale, enterprise platform and loyalty programme,” said Abhijay Sandilya, managing director, Japan & Micronesia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, and CEO of IHG ANA Hotels Group Japan.

IHG launched Noted Collection earlier this year as a premium collection for hotels that retain their individual character while joining the group’s commercial and loyalty platforms.
